After a little bit of a hiatus (for the bulk of summer 2012), Highway Highlights is back with an update from one of the coolest, most unique cities in the country- Austin, TX. I put a lot of miles under my feet this summer and will be adding more to the site regularly now as the season winds down.

The capital city of Austin is a splash of blue in a sea of red; a young, music-heavy, eclectic, progressive city which makes the top ten in all kinds of lists about why it’s the best.  And they make a lot of good points.  I had never been to the Lone Star State and this town was a fantastic intro to it.  Although I could have done without the blistering Texas heat.
